Ranking The 5 Ugliest Pokémon

Look at these monsters at your own risk.

For over 20 years now, Pokémon has given the world over 800 creatures to train and battle with against others. These creatures come from a plethora of backgrounds, each having deep thought put into making a truly great Pokemon.

Some, like Mawile, come from legends already told, while creatures such as Krookodile are only based on living animals. Plants can influence creations like Bellossom, and even inanimate objects like a bell or a bunch of keys can inspire the likes of Chimecho and Klefki, respectively.

Pokemon can flat out be a completely new thing/blob of creation, like Ditto.

Every single Pokemon has painstaking thought and care put into making sure they look the part. They have to truly be a Pokemon; their features and their style have to truly reflect them. However, these features and styles can sometimes go a bit wrong along the way.

Some Pokemon, while still being Pokemon, and being true to their idea, can turn out to be a little bit too ugly. It isn't necessarily bad design, but these are the runts of the bunch; ugly because they had to be.

That may be sad, but honestly, did anyone actually use this lot?

5. Pignite

Pignite is the evolved form of Unova's Fire-type starter Pokemon, Tepig, and volves into the Fire-Fighting type Emboar. It's kind of ironically funny, a pig being a Fire-type. It's pre-made bacon. However, when looked at next to Serperior and Samurott, Emboar appears kind of underwhelming.

So how does Pignite match up with the middle evolutions?

Short answer? Pignite is ugly, especially compared to the sleek Servine and adorable Dewott. Aside from the point, Pignite on its own doesn't look good at all. The ball-like structure doesn't make Pignite look strong. Its arms are stubby yet long, and don't look like they can do anything. The emblems on its chest are gross. And that tail, why? Why is the tail so out of place? Plus that nose doesn't work at all. Are the nostrils on the bottom of the nose or the front?

Pignite looks like a bundle of inconclusive decisions, and that makes it look like a failure. Funny story, it is a failure. Emboar also kind of sucks. It's a bunch of missed opportunities and all very disappointing.
