Resident Evil 6 Will Be More Than Twice As Long As Resident Evil 5

Producer confirms single storylines will be around 70% to 80% of full length of the preceding game.

Resident Evil 6 producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi sat down with the Playstation Blog to give a demo of what is being called the Crossover system, an evolution of the original idea in Resident Evil 2 where decisions you made as Leon affected the outcome of your playthrough as Claire, and vice versa. One major point Hirabayashi made was the amount of time you will spend with the game. When asked about the game's three scenarios, he said "If you play all three storylines all the way through, you€™ll see everything you can see from every side in terms of story, and you€™ll obviously have the chance, depending on the settings of the lobby, to have people joining you in these crossover intersections. It€™s quite a lot of volume: we estimate that each one of these storylines is probably around 70% to 80% of the volume of the whole game in Resident Evil 5. So with three separate storylines, there€™s plenty to play here." Coupled with the DLC that will be PS3-exclusive at first, it looks like Capcom is trying to give us as much value out of a first day purchase as possible. So what do you think, Resident Evil fans? Are you looking forward to the impending release of Capcom's horror/action epic? Share your thoughts and expectations below.
