Hearthfire, the second downloadable content for Skyrim, is to be released on Xbox live next week. The content will cost 400 (£3.43) Microsoft Points and allows players to build a house from scratch and adopt a child. It will be made available on Tuesday, September 4th. Of the ability to build a house from scratch, perhaps the more notable of the new features, Bethesda said players could create a house ranging "from a simple one-room cottage to a sprawling compound complete with an armory, alchemy laboratory, stable, garden, and more". In the teaser trailer released for the content, it is stated that players must first purchase land and obtain a deed before construction can begin. The trailer also shows "trophies" which players can display in their homes - the corpses of slain foes such as Hagravens and Draugr. You can watch the trailer below;Another new feature is the addition of tools to the game, such as a drafting table and a carpenters workbench, which can be used to turn mined elements into structures and furnishings. On Skyrim, players were limited to five pre-built houses, so this new feature is very exciting news. Unfortunately, Bethesda made no mention of any new quests in the latest downloadable content, which is again set to remain as an Xbox exclusive initially at least. PS3 users are still no closer to receiving Dawnguard - the first Downloadable content released by Bethesda. Apparently, it is delayed due to "performance issues" on the system.
