SKYRIM Tops UK Charts After Price Drops Leads To 145% Sales Increase
It is the first time since release that Modern Warfare 3 has not held the top spot in the weekly UK sales chart.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has been dethroned at least for this week in UK sales. Following a highly publicised price drop over much of the country, Skyrim sales exploded for a 145% increase over last week to top the reining champ Modern Warfare 3. It is actually the first time since the game has been released that Modern Warfare 3 has not held the top spot in the weekly sales chart. Modern Warfare 3 only fell one spot in the chart to number two this week, while Just Dance 3 comes in at number three. Skyrim sales continue to impress as it garners game of the year talk from almost every major gaming website. I think Bethesda was expecting Skyrim to sell but to the extent that the game will surpass Oblivion lifetime sales most likely before the end of the year is to say the least very impressive. Here is the rest of the top ten (and if you want to check out the whole list you can go here):
1. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim 2. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 3. Just Dance 3 4. FIFA 12 5. Assassin's Creed Revelations 6. Battlefield 3 7. Professor Layton and the Spectre's Call 8. Saints Row: The Third 9. Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception 10. Mario Kart 7As I'm sure you have seen from the ads, Skyrim is now available for as little as £22.49 from some retailers such as Amazon.
