“Combined with refined gameplay, jaw-dropping visuals, and a fresh twist on competitive gaming with our new online multiplayer mode, I guarantee that God of War: Ascension will give fans what they have been eagerly waiting for, and much more.”
Sony have released some juicy new details on their upcoming God of War: Ascension, the fourth chapter in their epic Greek mythology action franchise. The game will showcase an updated combat system (although details are sketchy at best as to exactly what that entails), and will also be the first entry in the franchises history to have been kitted out with multiplayer. As youd expect, multiplayers will be able to compete against each other either on or offline, in battles that Todd Papy, Game Director at Santa Monica Studios, describes as fierce combat scale of the franchise with a unique gameplay experience. It looks like the dreaded game-churn may soon meet a brand new vanquisher. Built to retain the scale and tone of the single player campaign, this new mode apparently gives eight players a slew of different match options, along with customisable avatar warriors, armour and weapons. Youll also get to pick a God (out of Zeus, Ares, Poseidon or Hades) and fight as their champion, earning their favour through victory in order to unlock further character customisation options. The bar is set quite high for this franchise as each God of War title succeeds in being better than the last, added Papy, but, unlike previous releases, were providing a deeper look into Kratos tormented past and psyche that fans have not seen before. Combined with refined gameplay, jaw-dropping visuals, and a fresh twist on competitive gaming with our new online multiplayer mode, I guarantee that God of War: Ascension will give fans what they have been eagerly waiting for, and much more.
