Forget your Red Dead Redemption 2s and your Spider-Mans, fans have spent months looking forward to getting their hands on Spyro the Dragon: Reignited Trilogy in September. Unfortunately, we’re all going to have to wait a little while longer before we can all pretend to be a kid again.

Developers Toys for Bob announced yesterday that the remaster has been delayed until November 13th. The official statement read:

"Everyone here at Toys for Bob is so proud to be reigniting the original Spyro trilogy after all these years. We're deeply committed to getting these games right, so we’ve decided to move the release date of Spyro Reignited Trilogy to November 13, 2018. I really hoped that you would be rescuing dragons and scorching Rhynocs sooner, but the Trilogy needs more love and care. In November when you’re exploring the Dragon Realms, Avalar and the Forgotten Worlds, we know you’ll agree the extra time was worth the wait.

Of course, the delay could simply be that the team needs a little bit of extra time to polish up the project - or you know, to actually include two of the games on the disc - but the new date puts it between some pretty hefty competition. Now it’ll release just a day before Fallout 76 and at the same time as Hitman 2, and that’s assuming everyone is ready to move on from Red Dead Redemption 2, which drops a few weeks prior.

Still, delays do only ever make games better, so hopefully the title will be worth the wait when it drops closer to the end of the year.
