Let's face the facts, an incredibly popular graphic novel spawned an insanely popular television show. Now, they're rounding out the onslaught of zombie entertainment with a seemingly lighter take on The Walking Dead, and offering up the chance to live through the universe of the television show socially with friends. Set for launch in April, the game comprises itself of two main objectives that use turn based strategy to defend against the undead. Your first objective is to set out and find a base camp which requires you to constantly improve your camp in order to survive. A second primary objective finds players establishing raiding parties, setting out into the unknown, and scavenging supplies. Whether you choose to fight at range or up close and personal is entirely up to you, but remember sometimes it's better just to save your bullets. With the title launching on Facebook it should come as no surprise that many successful social mechanics, set in place by previous games, will come in to play. You may find yourself recruiting new members, setting up guard duty, or returning to camp after a period of time and finding the camp overrun. If you return to discover the horror of your best friend turned walker, remember that they aren't who they used to be. Expect to see a few familiar faces from the show as well, and while you won't actually be able to step in their shoes, it has the potential to be a great service for fans of the show. Venturing through the social world of The Walking Dead is set to have you re-discovering areas from the show as well. The heart of the title is a social experience, as it should be. Facebook is a place to interact with friends and family, and total strangers. I can't think of a better way to do so than in an imaginary apocalypse. I look forward to knowing who I can count on, and who's already walker bait. Source: Inside Social Games
