6. Lion King
This game, published by Virgin Interactive, follows Simba's journey from a cute, carefree cub through to a final battle with his uncle Scar as a fully grown lion. Starting off as a cub you had limited skills, only being able to roar, jump on enemies and roll but as the game developed you grew up into a strong, brave lion who could slash, maul, throw his enemies and a ferocious roar. I certainly wouldn't have wanted to meet him on a dark night on the walk home from the local watering hole. Scary. What made it a brilliant game is the way you felt for Simba who had lost his dad, Mufasa, and you got the feeling of the revenge that Simba wanted. And it had a monkey, a monkey called Rafiki, with a red bum. You just can't get better than that.
