Warner Announce DC Comics’ “Infinite Crisis” Free MOBA Game

Warner Interactive Entertainment have announced a multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) version adapting DC Comics€™ €œInfinite Crisis€ book for release later this year. Turbine, the developer of Lord of the Rings Online and Asheron€™s Call, will be working on the game which will be PC only and available to play for free.
Turbine€™s Jeffrey Steefel: €˜The Turbine team is very excited to reveal Infinite Crisis to the world and extend the MOBA genre with new features,€™ he said. €˜We are utilising years of experience in the online game space to deliver innovations to the MOBA genre with a game that features fast-paced action, a major story arc, destructible environments, catastrophic events and a deep roster of iconic DC Comics characters.€™
The characters available to play will be multiple versions of popular DC folk which ties into the €œInfinite Crisis€ book and features the Multiverse where there are numerous versions of Batman, Superman, etc. The characters that have been shown so far are: Nightmare Batman, Doomsday, Flash, Gaslight Batman, Gaslight Catwoman, Gaslight Joker, Green Lantern, Poison Ivy, Shazam (aka Captain Marvel), The Joker, Wonder Woman, and Zatanna. The references to €œGaslight€ relate to a classic Batman book €œGotham by Gaslight€ which is an Elseworlds imagining of a Victorian-era Batman who fights Jack the Ripper. If Turbine are to be faithful to the book, expect to also see Superboy-Prime, the Teen Titans, Aquaman, Power Girl, Firestorm, the Green Lantern Corps, Brother Eye, OMAC, Nightwing, and Lex Luthor. Like their other gaming projects €œInjustice: Gods Among Us€ and €œBatman: Arkham Asylum€, DC have confirmed they will be publishing a game-related comic in the lead up to its release.
