Around this time every year, wrestling fans start getting excited about the next instalment of WWE's long running video game series (even though they more often than not disappoint thanks to the same old recurring problems). The games remain a must-buy for fans who want to take control of their dream matches though, and while the roster reveal is always exciting, so too is who will be chosen to take centre stage on the game's cover. Sometimes the choice appears to be random, while other years the Superstar chosen will just be particularly hot at that moment or may have a specific game mode based around them. It's the latter which applies to Stone Cold Steve Austin, a legend who deserves respect, but not necessarily a place on the cover. While it's not hard to understand why WWE and 2K would put the spotlight on the Texas Rattlesnake, there are plenty of WWE Superstars (and Divas) who would have benefited more from being on the cover of a popular video game franchise than someone whose time in the spotlight has come and gone.
