Grasshopper Manufacture have released an awesome spoof advert for their upcoming zombie slasher video game, Lollypop Chainsaw.

The game is based around cheerleader Juliet Starling who armed with a chainsaw, fights zombies in San Romero (nod to George Romero) High School. She does this while carrying the severed but still alive head off her infected boyfriend who she decapitated after he got bitten. The antagonist in the game is Juliet's former classmate, an evil goth sorcerer named Swan who is responsible for raising the dead. The game is a third person slasher with bucket loads of sex and gore. In the advert, Juliet shows how she gets rid of those tough, caked on zombie stains by using 'Zom-Be-Gone'.

The games creative director is Suda 51 (real name Goichi Suda) who's previous work includes Killer 7, No More Heroes and the criminally overlooked Shadows of the Damned that was released last year. If you have played any of those games then the off-the-wall storyline of Lollypop Chainsaw will come as no surprise.

Despite Shadows of the Damned receiving widespread critical acclaim, it was largely ignored on its release in the west. In that game you played demon hunter Garcia Hotspur who's girlfriend is kidnapped by the Lord Demon Flemming and Hotspur has to enter the demon world to rescue her. It went over the heads of most people even though it was one of the best games of 2011. Lollypop Chainsaw is an attempt by Grasshopper Manufacture to garner a more widespread appeal. I for one cant wait!
