And no, Bruce Willis doesn't count...

The Hollywood and music industry must be closely tied. With musical features such as The Greatest Showman, it would be a missed opportunity to not utilise musical formats to both provide content for non film-goers and get the others inticed to watch the film in theatres.

With many actors acquiring their Hollywood status via broadway, many have tried their hand at singing. In this list we'll also focus on the singers too, and judge them fairly, highlighting their successes with music and film.

Therefore they have to be prosperous in the singular entertainment mediums themselves. So Meryl Streep or Hugh Jackman would not count, since they've only sang in the films they've starred in.

No further delay. We'll hop into it...

10. Will Smith

Will Smith began in the widely popular television show The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, where he introduces his confident acting and rapping talents, especially in the show's opening song.

Now Will Smith is one of the most sought after actors, similar to Brad Pitt, where he could turn down a film pitch if he doesn't agree with his part in the movie. He has acted in I Am Legend, The Pursuit Of Happyness, I-Robot, Aladdin, and Hancock.

Besides his pure acting endeavors, Will Smith has the tendency to meld his rapping talents to some of his works. For Men In Black he sang Black Suits Comin', Wild Wild West the song of the same name, and a modern rendition of Aladdin's Friend Like Me sung by The Genie.

Even if he has much abandoned the music industry for his acting talents, he did produce Gettin' Jiggy Wit It which won a Grammy for Best Rapper.
