Jimmy Eat World are a unifying band. They have fans from all sorts of musical persuasions. They enjoy patronage from Indie kids, skin-headed hardcore elitists, Skate-punkers, arty Post-Hardcore types, Metal-heads and mums and dads. Everyone's favorite Emo band hail from Arizona and have been together for twenty years now, releasing numerous albums and EP's. Such is their broad appeal that they have toured with the likes of Green Day, Weezer, Taking Back Sunday, Blink 182, New Found Glory and many more. This month saw the release of their eighth full length record, 'Damage', and of course, it is superb. Let's look at just five of the many reasons why we love Jimmy Eat World.
5. They Look Like Regular Dudes
They've sold a couple of million records, played pretty high up on major festival bills, toured the world, regularly sell out their own headlining shows and graced magazine covers. Not bad going for four guys that look like they could be dating your older, preppy sister, tending your local beachfront bar or fixing your car. Jimmy Eat World show us that you can have your music videos all over the music channels because the MUSIC is good. Their image, is no image. They demonstrate that regular dudes can be Rock stars too, and for that, you have to respect them.
