5 Things You Need To Know About Honor

Have you heard Hozier's 'Take Me To Church'? Of course you have, that track had more airplay than a brass band these last few months, and even if you don't know it by name, you'd definitely recognise its chorus refrain. Why mention such a high-ranking song? Well, because it was the first time in quite some time where a relatively unknown artist put together a great track with some extremely powerful messaging, only for it to take off in a way they could never have imagined. It showed people can be far more receptive to a song's message than many bigger artists' songwriting teams would have their respective acts believe, and since then it's opened the doors for a slew of newcomers worth your attention, putting their all into every lyric and hoping the right people take notice. One such artist is Honor, a five-year in the making star looking for that one chance to shine, but having come a very long way already. It's nothing new to say YouTube has revolutionised the way we go about consuming music alongside the likes of iTunes and Spotify, but it also creates huge opportunities for all the right people - sometimes accidentally. Honor's tale is a fantastic one, tying together an origin through YouTube with a management company willing to give her a shot - creating a fast rising star you're going to be hearing a lot more about very soon.
