The music legend was reminiscing about the time that he stuck his tongue into an electrical train transfer to get ‘buzzed’ and added “I tired spiderwebs, too”. Ross, looking for clarification on the matter, asked if he meant eating the webs, to which Pop replied, “Well, I tried to smoke them, but you know you’ve got to start somewhere”.

As for the results, he claimed “they were hash”.

Although he was considered to be a wild-man throughout the sixties and seventies, Pop claimed he was “not surprised to be alive” and added “It’s brinkmanship. My psychiatrist told me in the seventies, You have amazing brinkmanship. You go to a certain place and you know when to pull back. I’m a conservative guy in my daily life".

You can see the full interview below, in which Pop also discussed his friendship with David Bowie and a previous, early encounter with the host.
