Every month, women around the world are subjected to an unspeakable curse: they call it "menstruation". Basically, you lay an egg, and then your body violently rips down the walls of your uterus. Meanwhile, you have to go on with your every day life. You go to work, bleeding. You go for groceries, bleeding. You walk the dog, bleeding.

If that's not torturous enough; your hormones are fluctuating more than a Dubstep sound-system and it feels like Battle of Helms Deep is going on in your womb. Oh, and you're hungry. So very hungry... and angry... and sad... and then angry again.

Modern women are lucky to have a huge market of protection when Aunt Flo comes to town. No longer do we have to wear rags and rabbit skins to soak up our vaginal lining: now there's pads, tampons and even MoonCups to make that time of the month as stain-free as possible.

That's all fine and dandy - but you know, if Mother Nature could just send us a little text with "Hey, you're not pregnant!" twelve times a year and leave our uterus out of it - that would be great. Instead, it goes down a little bit like this...
