It's the most wonderful time of the year... no it's not. You don't mind the festivities but why do they have to come with such terrible conditions? This truly is the very worst time of year and nothing can cheer you up or help you shake off the winter blues. Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) affects around 2 million people in the UK, symptoms include a low mood and a lack of lust for life. It's the time of year when more blankets are pulled over heads in the morning than thrown off on the floor and days are spent with box sets and a thousand tissues. A usual hour long commute to work turns into two hours as the whole of British Transport comes to a state of collapse and everyone has forgotten how to drive with caution. Half your work team are off sick and the other half are sharing their germs with you by sneezing and coughing the whole day through. Thanks guys. You spend most of the time flicking through image after image of your last beach holiday and reminiscing about being back there again. It's only a few months until all this bad weather passes again but it feels like a lifetime of hell having to get through this part every year.
