11 Questions All Vegetarians Will Have To Endure

"I beg your pardon, are you ill?".

Sometimes it€™s not easy being a vegetarian. Deciding not to eat meat anymore doesn't just mean changing your shopping list, there's also a myriad of other problems you're likely to face: Do you often question the waiters in restaurants to ensure there€™s been no cutlery cross-contamination? Will you always ask Subway staff to change their gloves for you? Can you tolerate people referring to you as being €˜slightly hippyish€™? Then there's also the nightmare of attending social events that have buffets - a particularly treacherous area, especially when trying not to overly offend the hosts. If you think becoming a bit of a pariah among your carnivore friends for this behaviour is the worse thing you've got coming, then think again. There€™s a great number of people out there who - once they find out you€™re a veggie - will react in the same incredulous manner as if you had mentioned a fondness for conversing with household plants. When you do meet those who consider vegetarianism similar to coming from another planet, they€™re likely to probe further into your lifestyle choice. Some veggies may only face several of these questions during their lives, but most will be unfortunate enough to hear them all.
