People are divided about the existence of the friend zone. Some - usually those who have experienced it - are adamant that it's genuinely a thing with a 'you cannot go further than this point' rule, whilst others believe that's it's just silly because if a relationship doesn't work out, then friendship seems like the logical result of that failure. Why would you disregard someone's existence just because they don't feel the same way about you romantically? There appears to be some confusion about the friend zone simply being a state of mind and it's really just a misogynistic point of view because some egos can't comprehend rejection. Although this is very unfair and highly sexist, there are many ladies out there who also get shafted into the friend zone. No matter lives in your underpants, it's a difficult thing to take. Nobody in the friend zone actually understands why they're there and they're positively tired of hearing "it's not you, it's me" or "I sort of see a relationship with you as being incestuous." Regardless of whether you're in the friend zone or whether it's you banishing people there, there are many things that you'll be able to relate to if you have experienced either side of this dreaded zone.
