Since you're reading this, there's a very good chance you've chosen to take a new step in your life, plunging into the world of vegetarianism. Good for you: it might be a path riddled with potential pit-falls, but you're genuinely doing something great. Nevertheless, it can be a confusing and difficult world out there without meat.

Eating veggies and not animals - whether for health reasons or just because you love animals - is problematic for everyone, but particularly in the early days. When everyone is starting off with vegetarianism, they just don't know how to veggie and most other people won't understand it at all. It's never easy, but it does get easier. So keep on going and believe in yourself. 

Part of the problem is that there are so many rules and regulations, and that everyone has their own boundaries. Some people still choose to eat fish or choose not to mind battery caged eggs: being a veggie is what you make of it, and there's no need to listen to those meat-eating naysayers. 

At the end of the day, you're doing a great job and saving the animals. It's just not always as easy to cope with at the start as you'd probably hoped...

15. Not Being Able To Eat Haribo

Who knew there was animal in Haribo? Snacking for film nights just got really hard, as your childhood favourites just got cancelled from your diet forever.

That's right, no more going to the corner shop to get yourself a blue dolphin or even those colourful gummy bears, they might not contain real dolphins or bears but they might as well.

It's true that some Haribo treats can be suitable for vegetarians, but it's a rare minority of them. And if that fails, there's always veggie Percy Pigs, finished with a green ear... just in case you get mixed up.
