The introduction is always the hardest part. So you've opted for the hard core life of a Literature student and whilst some of you regret it for the simple fact that you have no idea how you're going to earn a living with the degree once you graduate, the other half of you are in love with the fact that you get to read the Classics every week. Whether you know what you want from this degree or not (sometimes University just feels like the common 'next step' to take) remember to enjoy your time as a student but if you do admit to hating Charles Dickens, you will probably become the outcast of every seminar. Dickens is also on every reading list in the world. Whatever you do, do not subscribe to Netflix as you will become addicted and it will take over your life. Watching the film adaptations do not count as reading the text either so don't bother trying that.
