Similar to Disney's private island destination Castaway Cay, Lighthouse Point will offer activities that everyone will enjoy. There's an adult-only beach, kids club and a Bahamian art and culture pavilion. Visitors to both the family beach and adult-only beach will be able to enjoy dining and drinks along with rentable cabanas.

Those who prefer their beach time a little more active can also find plenty to do at Lighthouse Point. The destination will have watercraft and bicycle rental, along with volleyball and hiking opportunities. If guests want to explore more of the island then Disney have partnered with local tour operators so guests can see the rest of Eleuthera.

Lighthouse Point has been "sustainably developed" and as Disney Cruise Line's senior vice president and general manager Sharon Siskie said "truly celebrates" the Bahamas "natural and cultural beauty".

Disney worked with local artists so that Lighthouse Point will welcome guests with "sweeping architecture in bright, saturated hues — a bold style inspired by nature". The buildings are designed to first appear like shells along the beach. With references to the natural flora and fauna of the island as well as "the pageantry and history of Junkanoo parades". As part of the design you will also be able to see "references to playful folklore characters will evoke the warmth and charm of the local culture."

Over 90% of the power used by Lighthouse Point is generated from solar panels on the island, walkways have been elevated to avoid damage to the landscape and the pier created in a way to avoid dredging. Creative director at Walt Disney Imagineering Kevin Thomas said of the project “we’re focused on low-density, sustainable development that protects and preserves the environment, allowing the site’s biodiversity to shine.”

In true Disney style, the destination is set to be as stress-free as possible with towels, chairs and lunch included, along with tram transportation.
