It's that time again when we've made a full rotation around the sun, and Apple are unveiling some of their plans for the next few months. This year sees the release of an update for your iDevice known as iOS6, heralding in a new age of innovation on Apple's part, and Mountain Lion, their latest iteration of the Mac operating system. Let's look from the top.

1. Maps

Sounds boring right? Well, it isn't. Up until now, Apple has had a long standing contract with Google to use its Google Maps service on Apple products ranging from the iPhone, iPad and even on the iPod. Now this was all well and good, but it's not an Apple service and that's where Apple wanted to claim back the competition, launching what it referred to simply as 'Maps'. The new take on the mapping service from Apple leaves users with everything that had with Google Maps, but with much more such as Spoken Directions (via Siri) directing the user to a destination in a hands free fashion and even '3D Flyover'; a unique service which allows you to tour locations from a bird eye view and from 3 dimensions.
