10 Best Red Bull Soapbox Derby Entries

By Joe Hudson /

Red Bull recently hosted the first Soapbox Derby in Britain in almost ten years as it stormed its way to London's Alexandra Palace on July 14th. WhatCulture! was there to witness the crazed inventions of the British public flying down the gardens once home to the BBC Television service at speeds up to 30mph and getting big air after hitting strategically placed jumps. Some Soapboxes survived the decent intact but a good number were either destroyed completely or subjected their drivers to pretty nasty injuries including one driver breaking two fingers and one suffering a few nasty facial industries. However, with seventy entries to choose from it is hard to pick just ten to showcase here, the chosen ten were picked partly because of their speed but mainly because of their design, granted while some failed to finish they were definitely good while they lasted.
