Game 1 of the 2015 NBA Finals is in the books, and the Golden State Warriors have taken a 1-0 lead in the best-of-seven series - an advantage which could prove invaluable. The game was a close one, decided in overtime on the back of a typically stellar performance from season MVP Steph Curry and his supporting cast of high-octane teammates. Last night showcased exactly why the Warriors compiled the best record in the entire league over the course of their 2014/15 campaign, demonstrating their ferocious defensive capabilities and characteristic deadly accuracy from beyond the three point line. The Cavaliers, on the other hand, may have run themselves into the ground already. It's been a tough season for Cleveland's much-maligned basketball team (well, about as maligned as the luckless city's other major sporting franchises), but the returning LeBron James has dragged a sideshow carnival of role players to the second finals series of their 45 year history. An injury to Kevin Love earlier in the playoffs, as well as a hard fall sustained by Kyrie Irving in yesterday's fourth quarter, must solidify the Cavs as heavy underdogs - regardless of the fact that they have the best player of a generation among their ranks. Whatever outcome this series results in, it will make for a great story. Cleveland have never won an NBA championship (or any major sporting title since a pre-Super Bowl NFL victory in 1964). The Warriors have had a similarly tough time for decades now, their last championship coming way back in 1975. Will Curry's Warriors establish themselves as the hot new force in basketball, or will LeBron find forgiveness for his controversial betrayal of the Cavaliers in the summer of 2010? These seven predictions aim to find out...
