The brand new Atletico Madrid away kit was launched yesterday and welcomes a return to the popular dark blue colours worn throughout their successful 1995-96 campaign. During their El Doblete season Los Rojiblancos won both the La Liga and Copa del Rey title, a triumph that still today stands as one of the club's defining achievements. Managed by Radomir Anti‡at at the time, Atleti won the league by four points ahead of Valencia and beat Barcelona 1-0 in the final of the Copa del Rey, Serbian midfielder Milinko Panti‡ scoring the winning goal.

Throughout this memorable season, the club wore a dark blue away kit and for 2015-16 a refreshed, modernised take on this design will grace pitches across Spain and beyond. As on the home kit, inside the back of the neck sits a small tab of the Spanish flag featuring the anniversary dates of €˜1995/96€™ and €˜2015/16€™. While this new kit represents a proud, traditional symbol of the club, it also offers players the very latest in Nike performance innovation, fabric technology, moisture management and environmental sustainability. Nike Dri-FIT technology draws sweat away from the body to the exterior of the shirts and shorts where it quickly evaporates. This allows players to perform at their best by remaining cooler, drier and more comfortable. The laser-cut ventilation holes and mesh panels in key areas of the kit are designed to improve performance by increasing air circulation to the players€™ bodies and helping regulate their temperatures. The jersey is crafted using an engineered mesh fabric €“ this is used in both the shirt€™s front and back panels to increase airflow and facilitate enhanced movement.
