An incredible game this early afternoon at Stamford Bridge saw the forgotten men of Arsene Wenger's Arsenal overturn their London rivals Chelsea 3-5 with Robin Van Persie the undisputed man of the match scoring a hat trick. It was the first time that Chelsea have ever conceded five goals at home and it will be a day they will want to forget, especially as they scored first through Frank Lampard's header and looked like they would be heading to another victory at home. They then quickly cancelled out a Van Persie equaliser by scoring again through John Terry's 16 yard effort just before half time and few could imagine the effort that Arsenal would give in the second half. The second forty five truly belonged to Arsenal. A fabulous strike from outside the box full back Andre Santos, reviving memories of Brazilian fullback Silvinho against the Blues some seasons ago and then a goal after a run from Theo Walcott put the Gunners ahead with 35 minutes left of the game. Chelsea looked like they might salvage a point on the 80th minute through a Juan Mata stunner that sent the home fans into raptures but then Van Persie scored twice. The first came five minutes before time after capitalising on a John Terry slip from a bad Florent Malouda backpass to beat Petr Cech, and then two minutes into added time he was put through by Mikel Arteta to send Arsenal up to 6th in the table. They are now only three points behind Chelsea and have quietly got themselves back into the title race. The result was Arsene Wenger's 500th victory as Arsenal boss. It'll be one he'll long remember.
