Ramirez has enjoyed two impressive spells at Bologna in Serie A and was linked with a move to Merseyside even before Brendan Rodgers took the reigns as manager. Rodgers' task is to improve on Liverpool's worst top tier finish in 60 years last season and guide the club back into the Champions League and he will be given money to spend, although likely not the £120 million the American owners handed to Kenny Dalglish who over-spent on flops Charlie Adam and Stewart Downing and overpaid for Andy Carroll.
