The Sports Review, Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has told the media that the club are willing to sell striker Dimitar Berbatov. The 31-year-old Bulgarian number 9 has been cast aside at Old Trafford whilst younger talents such as Javier Hernandez and Danny Welbeck are emerging into first teamers and taking his spot. Berbatov is known to be unhappy at his treatment from Fergie, believing he was cast aside too early as the goals never dried up. He begged on his Facebook page this past week for a move away from Old Trafford if Ferguson still refused to play him next season. With Berbatov€™s agent revealing a possible move to Serie A this week, Sir Alex has backed up claims that the club may be selling a striker that cost over £30 million only 4 years ago. Sir Alex admits Berbatov wasn€™t favoured over other players last season and told the media that he can leave if he wishes:

€œThe boy obviously wants to leave. That€™s a different matter. I€™m easy about it. If he stays, I€™ll be happy. If somebody comes in for him and Dimitar wants to leave, we€™ll assess it.€
Berbatov has scored 56 goals in a Manchester United shirt, although his contribution was affected last season as others took his place in the squad. With the 2012/13 under a month away it is still unclear the future of the player and whether he will actually feature next season at all in the famous red shirt.
