1. Dimitar Berbatov - Manchester United to Fulham

A good servant for Manchester United, once their top league goalscorer and their most expensive purchase in history just four years ago, but everyone could see it was time for Dimitar Berbatov to move on after being left out in the cold by Sir Alex Ferguson. Berbatov arrived at Old Trafford from Spurs in 2008 to partner Wayne Rooney as Louis Saha departed for Everton. He departs following a long spell on the bench as Ferguson concentrates on bringing through his younger talent. The arrival of Robin van Persie was the final straw and the Bulgarian decided it was time to move on. Berbatov told the club's website: "As soon as I was aware of Fulham's interest my decision to join was an easy one to make. "I'm impressed with the set up here and the people have made me feel welcome. There is a close and personal feel around the club and I can't wait to get started." Fulham have signed a striker with proven ability and composure. He isn't the fastest player, nor the one who will chase down every cause for 90 minutes, but he does have a lot of Premier League experience. The London club definitely have a use for him too, after American international Clint Dempsey straight out refused to play for them anymore and left for Tottenham Hotspur. According to Sky Sports the forward had been tracked by the likes of Fiorentina and Juventus, but ultimately chose to stay in England with Fulham. New boss Martin Jol announced how pleased he was to sign someone he has worked with before. "Dimitar is a player I've always admired," said Jol. "He did well for me at Spurs and I'm sure that he will do well here at Fulham. "He's a player of great quality and technical ability who will give me the attacking option I've been looking for."
