It means the new football season is fast-approaching, and Sunderland will be donning a bizarre green number for their away jaunts this time around, but where does it rank among recent modern efforts? The Black Cats' colours are of course red and white with a hint of black and gold, but there has been a long-standing affinity with blue change kits, though when it comes to away strips, fans are happy to see new and exciting designs to buy during pre-season. It gives kit designers the freedom to break away from stripes and produce something completely different, and this season's kit certainly ticks the 'different' box, though it is an Adidas template design also loosely used by Fenerbache, Schalke, and Aberdeen for their upcoming campaigns.
