EW are reporting that ABC have commissioned a pilot for a brand new version of Charlie's Angels, the hit '70s TV show (starring Farrah Fawcett, Kate Jackson and Jaclyn Smith) that was more recently adapted into two hit movies (starring Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu). The pilot is being masterminded by writer-producers Miles Millar and Al Gough, fresh from guiding Smallville to its tenth and final season this year. Mark Piznarski (Gossip Girl) is rumoured to have been asked to direct the pilot. The series will relocate the action from Los Angeles to Miami. If you don't know, Charlie's Angels concerns three female private investigators who work for an unseen boss (the eponymous "Charlie"), with the assistance of his right-hand man Bosley. The show was a huge pop-culture hit during its lifetime (1976-1981), turning Farrah Fawcett into a huge international star. The concept was adapted for the big screen in 2000 and 2003, under the direction of McG (Terminator Salvation).
