Amazon Unveils The Boys Season 2 Teaser Trailer
A first look at the next chapter of Amazon Prime's irreverent superhero series.
Amazon has revealed the first teaser trailer for the second season of The Boys, shortly after announcing a September 4th release date.
The series, created by Eric Kripke (Supernatural) and executive produced by the writing duo of Evan Goldberg & Seth Rogen (Preacher), is based on the comic book of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. A pitch-black satire of the superhero genre and tropes, it depicts a world where a superhero team known as 'The Seven' are popular celebrities who often abuse their powers to the detriment of humankind, and follows the titular group of human vigilantes who fight back against them.
Season 2 will follow The Boys on the run from the law; as Hughie (Jack Quaid), Mother’s Milk (Laz Alonso), Frenchie (Tomer Capon), and Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara) try to adjust to a new normal, with Butcher (Karl Urban) nowhere to be found. Meanwhile, heroine Starlight (Erin Moriarty) must navigate her place in The Seven as Homelander (Antony Starr) sets his sights on taking complete control of the group. His power is threatened with the addition of Stormfront (Aya Cash), a social-media-savvy new hero, who has an agenda of her own.
The first Season is available for streaming on Amazon Prime.
