Arrow's premiere was a nostalgic trip full of Easter Eggs, throwbacks and comic book goodness.

The Emerald Archer's return to The CW was a bittersweet one. Building towards what is undoubtedly going to be one of the most ambitious TV events of all time, it was also the beginning of the end for Arrow as the long-running superhero series will come to an end when its eighth season concludes.
However, the creative team are determined to make sure that it goes out on a high, and that really showed during its season premiere. A nostalgic venture into the show's past, 'Starling City' focused on Oliver Queen's attempts to complete the first of The Monitor's tasks in the build-up to the upcoming Crisis. That task, however, took him to Earth-2 where he (and us, as viewers) ended up reliving some of his greatest hits.
From the episode's focus on seasons gone by to the references to Crisis On Infinite Earths, Arrow's season premiere was, without a doubt, the gift that just kept on giving. And it was hard to make it through more than a couple of scenes without spotting something quite familiar.
