There might be two more Marvel Netflix shows releasing beforehand, but already our attention is being drawn to Daredevil Season 3.

The Man Without Fear's third season on Netflix is set to be a big one. With Wilson Fix gearing up to take down the offices of Nelson & Murdock and Matt now recovering in a nearby church, the only storyline that's on everyone's lips is Born Again, Frank Miller's seminal 1989 classic that told the story of Daredevil's own Easter resurrection (at Christmas).

And, while it might've already been clear to longtime fans of the character that this is the direction Netflix are taking Daredevil, yesterday's casting of Joanne Whalley as Sister Maggie has only confirmed those initial suspicions. The mother of Matt Murdock, Maggie played a prominent role in both the Born Again and Guardian Devil storylines in the comics, and with the threads for a Born Again-style season already in place, it would appear Whalley is set to portray the version from Miller's original comic.

Since premiering in 2015, Marvel's Daredevil has refrained from adapting beat-for-beat the comics themselves. Season 1 drew heavily from Miller's The Man Without Fear, and Season 2 even replicated a sequence from Garth Ennis' run on Punisher from the early 2000s. That could yet change with this season however, and while it's likely it won't be a by-the-numbers adaptation, it's clear that Matt Murdock's life is about to get much, much worse.
