Dexter Season 8 Trailer: 5 Big Questions

By Liam Hoofe /

After seven long years our time with TV€™s most charming serial killer is coming to an end. Dexter season 8 begins next month in the US, with the first episode being broadcast on June 30. The season is set to be Dexter€™s last and after Season seven€™s explosive ending we head onto to the home straight even more excited and confused than we have been in the past. How will Deb cope with the death of LaGuerta? Will she crack under pressure or will she join Dexter and adopt her father€™s code? Will Dexter finally get caught and made to pay for all his crimes or will he end the programme on a high, starting a new life somewhere else? The trailer for the new series was released and once again it has raised more questions than answers, so with that in mind here€™s the five big questions coming out of the trailer€

5. Evelyn Vogel - Will She Play A Part In Dexter€™s Downfall?

In the trailer we are introduced to Evelyn Vogel (played by Charlotte Rampling), the woman who we are told has wrote the €˜definitive text book on the brains of Psychopaths€™. Clearly this is going to be a major issue for Dexter, but surely not one that he won€™t be able to get around, right? He has already managed to convince Detective Lundy in earlier seasons, the man who was supposedly the best in the business when it comes to catching serial killers so why should this woman be any different? Well at a time when Dexter is at his most tested she may well have the capacity to keep one step ahead of him. Judging from what we€™ve seen in the trailer she is clearly starting to work Dexter out, probing him about the Bay Harbour Butcher and being involved in what appears to be several confrontations. His responses also look like that of a desperate man, putting her up against a wall, shouting in her face, this is not the cool calm and collected Dexter we have come to know and love. LaGuerta€™s pressure got a little bit too much for Dexter last season and look how that ended up. I wouldn€™t be surprised to see Evelyn head down a similar route.Could she be the one who finally brings down Dexter? Or will she just end up as another victim on his table
