Supergirl is making the move to The CW this coming autumn, and that means one thing: 4-way crossover!

The network always seemed like the logical home for the series, which aired its first season on CBS, given it has a well-established DC-universe in play. It all kicked off with Arrow back in 2012, which led into 2014's The Flash, and earlier this year came Legends of Tomorrow, which features characters from both shows.

All of those shows have already crossed over multiple times, while the Flash turned up on Supergirl towards the end of its debut season. It was expected that with Supergirl's arrival on The CW the Girl of Steel would be added to the mix, and now it's been made official. Speaking before the network's upfronts presentation, chief Mark Pedowitz said:

"Just imagine what our superhero crossover episode is going to look like come December."

While that could've been taken as an off-the-cuff remark, it was confirmed during the presentation that all four shows would crossover, which Pedowitz adding:

"Next season, Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, and now Supergirl will join forces in our annual crossover event, our biggest ever."

It's hardly a surprise, given the opportunity they have here, not to mention the clamour for it and the fact that they share the same producers and writers. The only wrinkle is that it was established Kara Danvers exists on a different Earth to the other characters, so it'll be interesting to see how they cross that bridge. However they do it, the crossovers have become one of the strongest parts of each show, and adding Supergirl to that can only be a good thing.
