Game Of Thrones: 9 Early Predictions For Season 7
The things we do for love.
Life can be hard when you're a Game of Thrones obsessive. You get 10 weeks a year to watch the show, and then have a seemingly endless gap until the next run.
That's only going to get worse, because the gap between Seasons 6 and 7 is even longer than usual, with the show moving to summer because winter has arrived, and the run itself will be even shorter, reduced to just seven episodes as the series nears its endgame.
Although it's good news that they aren't dragging out the series just for the sake of it (Season 8 will be the last, and probably another reduced one), it's going to be hard to take just seven episodes when 10 is already barely enough.
The plus side to all this, though, is that there's extra time to speculate, theorise, and predict what's going to happen when the show returns. Season 6 already started picking up the pace and really moving things along, and with around 13 episodes left, Season 7 is going to have to continue that trend and then some.
With the series ending in Season 8, next year should see characters colliding, key players dying, and some major plot developments to get us ready for the Battle of Ice and Fire.
9. Euron & Cersei Vs Daenerys
Euron is currently either in the Iron Islands, building his fleet, or already on his way after Theon and Yara. Cersei is in King's Landing, having made herself Queen of Westeros. Daenerys, meanwhile, is on her way to the Seven Kingdoms, ready to take what she thinks is rightfully hers.
Daenerys and Cersei are very much looking like they're on a collision course right now. Dany wants the Throne, and Cersei is currently sitting on it. Euron is the wild card, and potentially the difference maker (or at least a field-leveller).
He's on the hunt for Theon and Yara, who just so happen to be aligned with Daenerys, a woman Euron has already announced he plans to marry. That's going to cause a lot of conflict, and it wouldn't be that big of a surprise to see Dany's journey to Westeros interrupted by a battle at sea with Euron - although it's one she should easily win, because dragons.
Another possibility, given the odds are stacked in favour of the Mother of Dragons, is Cersei and Euron teaming up. Cersei may be advised that she needs to marry again to strengthen her hold, since she has no real claim to the Iron Throne, and Euron and Cersei being brought together would be uniting the two human Big Bads of the show, making for more formidable opposition to Daenerys, and one hell of a crazy coupling.
It's possible to imagine Euron even revealing dragonbinder, and promising Cersei he can take control of the dragons, to help this unification (it's much harder to see Daenerys siding with him). Euron and Cersei are both going to battle Daenerys, so might as well do it together. (And still lose, of course.)
