Game Of Thrones Season 6: 13 WTF Moments From The Red Woman
From "hot" to "not" in record time.
It feels like we've been waiting years...but Game of Thrones is finally back on the air. Ever since Jon Snow was peppered with blades and left for dead last season, we've all been desperate to get to the bottom of it. On the basis of this solid if hardly incredible season opener though, we might be in for the long haul.
Nevertheless, The Red Woman still served up the requisite WTF, with sex and gore in abundance, namely a few key characters getting taken out of the frame. As this was the first episode to truly break away from the books, many fans also noted how the tone felt subtly different, with a greater deference towards comic relief, ranging from lazy to dementedly hilarious.
Hopefully this is just a firm foundation for greater things to come over the next nine episodes, but as ever, we'll have to wait and see. Here are 13 WTF moments from The Red Woman...
13. Jon Snow...Still Dead
The Red Woman kicked off with an extended glimpse of Jon Snow's corpse, and if you thought his death would be neatly undone within the span of one episode, you were dead wrong.
Snow spent the entire episode on a slab in a store room as Davos and other loyalists considered their options against Ser Alliser and Jon's other killers, and Melisandre suffered a crisis of faith at seeing Snow's body.
While we hope that Snow's inevitable resurrection won't be dragged out until the 8th or 9th episode of the series, it looks like we're going to have a little wait before he once again joins the land of the living.
