Game Of Thrones Season 7: Daenerys' Dragons Will Be The Size Of 747s
The dragons are getting even bigger this year.
Daenerys' dragons are already pretty huge, especially compared to the babies we saw hatch back at the end of Season 1, and yet they're going to be even bigger in the forthcoming seventh season.
Admittedly that is the case every year, but they're getting particularly large this time around, which given Daenerys' current journey is probably terrible news for Westeros, and especially Cersei Lannister.
Speaking to EW, Matt Shakman - one of four directors for Season, and a newcomer to the show - said: "The dragons this year are the size of 747s. Drogon is the biggest of the bunch - his flame is 30-feet in diameter!”
As EW note, a Boeing 747 is typically 230ft long, with a 210ft wingspan. That is a LOT of firepower, which should come in handy for overthrowing the current incumbent of the Iron Throne - or for taking on the White Walkers. Hopefully this means we'll be getting plenty of dragon action this year, as the Battle of Ice and Fire approaches.
The show hasn't always nailed the visual effects work on Daenerys' children, with Drogon's appearance in Season 5 episode The Dance of Dragons particularly ropey. They did look very impressive last year however, and have more money to play with this time around, as they have a bigger budget and fewer episodes.
