Game Of Thrones: 15 Upcoming Problems That Could Potentially Derail It

Even the biggest TV shows need to account for impending rough waters...

Game Of Thrones is undeniably in its golden age: the series is now well into the heart of the third novel in The Song of Ice and Fire saga, noted as the best book of them all and there are still plenty of dazzling cards to play. This article is taken from the point of view of those who have read up to the end of A Dance With Dragons and know what is coming next, so for non-book readers, you can anticipate a whole host of spoilers. Season four is going to be a blast, with a number of exceptional moments to look forward to: the purple wedding, the assault on The Wall, the Mountain versus the Red Viper. Tyrion's final 'confrontation' with his father. They might not individually blow the socks of the red wedding necessarily, but collectively this year should be even stronger than the last. But then, like the books themselves, the TV series is going to have some struggles ahead. After the explosive final chapters of A Storm Of Swords, which will take place during season four, everything changes. Beloved characters are thrown in new directions or are removed altogether. New plot lines come into play, which don't seem to have the same momentum of the last two books / seasons. Not to mention that fact that the longer a show stays on the air, the more difficult it is to retain your cast for the complete story. The show isn't in trouble yet, though there are many issues to consider on the near-eve of the start of Season 4 - and while nobody would wish failure on the epic show, it is important to address those issues. Again, expect SPOILERS for non-book readers.
