Always Sunny seems like a show that could go on forever. The actors love being a part of it, the fans still adore it, and although it has dipped in quality a little, it's still really consistent - especially considering it has gone on for fourteen seasons.

However, as much as it pains us to think of it, the end will have to come eventually, as the shelf life of a sitcom can only take you so far. There are plenty of absurd and wild things that have happened throughout the series, but fans are desperate to see some specific payoffs and first-time moments before it closes the doors forever

Although the show is perfectly able to reject conventions and go with the flow, some individual narratives have been set-up and deserve to be rounded out. In addition, while it seems that the writers have exhausted every avenue, there are still a tonne of scenarios that they have not played around with, and watching the gang deal with these prospects could make for some of the best episodes.

The following list will contain spoilers for the series thus far.

10. The McPoyles Return One Last Time

One of the funniest running gags in the series is the number of rivalries that the gang have generated with characters all over Philly. They even dedicated an episode to quelling this in "The Gang Squashes Their Beefs", but it ended in disaster as could be expected.

Out of all the enemies they have generated for themselves however, the McPoyle family have to be some of the best.

This weird, inbred and downright gross familial unit have become a staple of the series, with many episodes dedicated to them. So if they are such a significant part of the show, then why have we not seen them since season eleven? Well, the likelihood is that the actors are a little too busy, with Jimmi Simpson appearing in plenty of hit shows and Nate Mooney having a full resume.

Still, if the series were to finish without seeing the family again, then fans everywhere would be disappointed, especially seeing as their story was left on a minor cliff-hanger.

Not only do fans deserve to know what happened after the disastrous McPoyle vs Ponderosa court case, but they also need a chance to see the McPoyles in one final blowout with the gang, putting an end to their story, one way or another.
