Sharp Objects Ending Explained

Trying to get your head around THAT ending? You're not the only one...

Sharp Objects aired its chilling finale this weekend, finally solving the mystery of the Wind Gap killings with three simple words: "Don't tell Mama.". After eight episodes following an unreliable narrator piecing together the plot through flashbacks, visions and many, many litres of Vodka, the show finally laid its blood-soaked cards on the table.

However, in classic Sharp Objects fashion, the answers to eight hours' worth of mysteries didn't come easy, and were wrapped up in the show's always-abstract method of storytelling. The pace of the episode also might have caught you off guard, getting through more plot in the span of 40 minutes than most of the episodes combined. As a result, a few of the most important revelations might not be apparent on a single viewing.

Throw in two post-credits sequences that hid key story details for only the die-hard fans (or those of us too shocked to actually change the channel) to see, and there's plenty that needs clearing up in the wake of that terrifying ending.
