The Simpsons: Sideshow Bob's 9 Greatest Moments

By Joseph Dempsey /

The Simpsons is known for its litany of colourful characters, and fans have been entertained by the likes of Homer, Bart, Lisa and Marge for almost quarter of a century. Which is why, when show producer Al Jean revealed earlier this month that one of the yellow denizens of Springfield was to be killed off, it was such big news. "I'll give you a clue that the actor playing the character won an Emmy for playing that character, but I won't say who it is," Jean said. With the writers preparing to bump off a character for the first time since viewers saw Maud Flanders snuff it 14 years ago, various bookmakers have placed odds on who might bite the bullet. One of the early favourites to be killed off is Sideshow Bob, voiced by Kelsey Grammer, who fans have seen attempting to murder Bart numerous times down the years. But could he die instead? With the fate of Krusty the Clown's one-time sidekick in the balance, we take a look back at some of Sideshow Bob's greatest moments on The Simpsons so far. Click "Next" to begin.
