Supergirl’s latest season finale saw the culmination of its most important storylines, as the war on aliens reached frightening new lows when Lex Luthor was officially pardoned for all of his crimes against both them and humanity. This prompted the Girl of Steel to come out of the shadows and stand up against his discriminatory ways.

With countless innocent aliens trapped on Shelley Island, Kara, Alex and James attempted to help Nia, Brainy and J’onn rescue them, only to cross paths with Agent Liberty and his army. Elsewhere, the Red Daughter had some redeeming to do, as she sought to make amends for all of Lex's manipulating.

But, after all that had gone down this year, it was only fitting that the season would officially culminate in an epic battle between Lex Luthor and Supergirl.

While 'The Quest For Peace' was undoubtedly laced with a ton of shocking moments, the vast majority of them came within its closing moments – all of which allude to darker days for the Girl of Steel and, by extension, the entire Arrowverse.
