The Flash Season 2: 9 Big Questions We're Asking After 'The Man Who Saved Central City'
Happy Flash Day!
Happy Flash Day everybody! The Flash is back for its second season, and just like the titular hero it certainly hit the ground running in the opening episode, The Man Who Saved Central City.
Although picking up a few months after the season 1 finale, it started out as though nothing had changed. Barry was taking down Captain Cold and Heat Wave, with a little assistance from Firestorm, and the whole gang was there to celebrate, including Harrison Wells.
That was the signal all wasn't right, and quickly turned into a Barry who was trying to save the world on his own. It then did what most opening episodes do, and set about quickly catching-up with all the main characters, re-establishing the status quo, and teasing what's to come in the remainder of the season.
It was a strong instalment from a show that thus far has had very few weak ones, as it managed to bring us right back into the world and demonstrate what's changed and what's staying exactly the same. The Flash is still doing his saving the city thing, Cisco is working with Joe, Caitlin has left STAR Labs, and Iris is already a much better character this time around. However, while it gave us these answers, it left us with many more questions.
9. Where Is Harrison Wells?
Last year gave us the mystery of just who is Harrison Wells, and after the shocking revelations of season 1 and his being Eobard Thawne/Reverse-Flash, the concern now is where is Harrison Wells?
Barry is clearly shocked to be receiving a message from him beyond the grave, and it was another big twist when it turned out that his final gift to Barry was to finally take the blame for his mother's murder, and allow Henry Allen to walk free from prison.
However, that isn't the last we're going to see of him, as Tom Cavanagh has (thankfully) been confirmed as a season regular again this year. Given he's believed to be dead, how exactly is that going to happen? Is just just going to be in a series of video messages and flashbacks, will he come back from the dead, or (and this is the most likely) is it another version of the character residing in an alternate dimension, who this world's Barry will end up coming into contact with?
