The Flash's sixth season has been juggling two major stories since it began and, for the most part, it has successfully managed to pull it off.

One of those stories is the stress that the upcoming Crisis is placing on Team Flash - all of whom now have to face the reality that Barry Allen is destined to perish in the multiverse-changing event. While that one is obviously geared towards developing The Flash's longstanding arc and, by extension, the Arrowverse itself, the other storyline is one that remains exclusive to this season.

Dr. Ramsey Rosso's desperate attempts to beat the cancer that is killing him has been leading him down a rather dark path as of late, and while the progression of his shift to villainy understandably took a back seat in the beginning for pacing reasons, both the character and his arc are now coming into their own.

That continued in this week's installment, 'There Will Be Blood', as the show maintained the primary focus on Bloodwork's rise while also setting aside time for the deeper moments of reflection, as certain characters struggled with the thought of living in a world without Barry. Once again, both narratives complemented each other really well and produced a Halloween-themed episode with real heart.
