The Mad Hatter Cast For Gotham Season 3
Walking Dead star joins Fox's super-prequel.
The Gotham family is growing. According to Entertainment Weekly, Australian Walking Dead actor Benedict Samuel is signing on to the Before Batman prequel show as Jervis Tetch, the Mad Hatter from the comics.
He is being described as a “talented hypnotist teetering on the edge of madness,” and will arrive in town looking for his sister. Presumably all innocent pretence will evaporate pretty quickly. I wonder whether they'll go the darker route that has crept into comics over the years since his more whimsical introduction on the page.
Samuel - who has previous playing creepy villains thanks to his performance as The Wolves leader Owen in The Walking Dead - will be a recurring character on the series. Given the show's usual tone, it's inevitable he will be weird.
Gotham returns on Fox this autumn. Or Fall if you're in America and use wrong words.
