Tiger King: 12 Unanswered Questions Season 2 Must Answer

So... did she do it?

By Luke Dixon /

Never before has a Documentary series had such an impact than the phenomenon that is Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness. Concentrating on the 'strange cat' that is Joe Exotic, the Netflix series that has been watched by over 35 million viewers (and rising), unleashed a series of outlandish mysteries upon the viewer. While the likelihood is that many of our burning questions will remain unanswered, there is a wealth of potential angles a second series of Tiger King could take to address these mysteries.

Without doubt the most talked about mystery of the show was the disappearance in 1997 of Don Lewis, the second husband of Big Cat Rescue founder Carole Baskin. While there were many aspects to this mystery that really got tongues wagging and raised questions that need to be addressed in future series, the biggest mystery of the season was Joe Exotic himself. While Carole and her new husband flatly deny the theory and the likes of Joe Exotic sung about Ms Baskin's murdering ways, the series never came close to get a definitive answer of what exactly happened to Don. While it is hard to imagine an open confession from the murderer or Don turning up on his ex-wife's doorsteps with an amazing tale to tell, a conclusive answer as to the manner of Don's disappearance would need to be at least theorised in a second season.

The series did a good job of exploring Carole's potential motives for 'offing' her husband, including reports of domestic abuse against Don and a suspiciously written will. With the Cold Case now being reinvestigated by Florida police, it would be likely that a second series would closely monitor any revelations that come forward about Don's disappearance. Amongst the investigation, there will no doubt be one specific question that will be asked...
