Westworld Season 1 Finale: 13 Huge Questions After 'The Bicameral Mind'
Soon this will all feel like a distant dream. Until then, let's ponder the questions left behind.
Those violent delights have finally come to their violent ends.
After 10 hours of theory-generating, thought-provoking television that left viewers oft in awe and infuriated in equal measure, Westworld's first season has come to its conclusion.
With the show an ever tangled web of timelines, identities, and consciousness, the finale had a lot of questions to answer. It promised reveals and - without spoiling anything here (spoilers will follow from the next page onwards) - it mostly delivered.
The extra-long finale (it clocked in at 90 minutes) provided a satisfying conclusion to the arcs we've witnessed over the last 10 episodes: William, Dolores, Dr Ford, Bernard, the Man in Black, and Maeve all have big parts to play here.
Although maybe slightly too long, it's still a stunning episode of TV; visually, of course, but accompanied by top performances from all the cast, a heavy dose of the violence and weirdness we've become accustomed to, and writing from Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy that closes some doors, leaves a few ajar, and opens plenty of others.
The Westworld finale gave us lots of answers, but many new questions arose in their wake.
13. What Happened To Logan?
I'm not sure if anyone really cares too much about Logan, since, well, he was a total dick. But his character's fate is still left up in the air after the finale.
He's sent off naked and on horseback by William, who has said that he's going to take over Delos. We know that part came true, because William - aka the Man in Black - is the majority shareholder of the park in the present timeline.
What we don't know is what happened to Logan. Did he just run back home? Is he still alive? Heck, could he even still be in the park somewhere?
